What was your defining moment?
I've been Struggling with my weight for a very long time.
I'm 5'3 and was over 200lbs, I lost some weight before coming
here but the weight was.creeping back up.
I'm curious as to what some of your defining moments were
That you realized - wow I'm fat or that NOW is the time to change?
One of my moments was when I was at the store with my 1
year old and an older gentlemen said to me innocently,
"Your gonna need one of these soon!" As he was pointing to
a double stroller. I wasn't pregnant. I told my friend what he said and she ,
Being a good friend tried to make me feel better. I
amazingly wasn't upset. It was true I looked pregnant.
So I thank that man for waking me up from my fat comma. I see myself for what I am.
A work in progress determined for change. Good luck
to everyone at reaching your goals!

My moment wasn't really a moment per se. I just hit a breaking point where after a really crappy bunch of months led to me moving back home to sleep on a cot in my mother's apartment. I spent the next few months moving only from the bed to the couch and playing video games to escape reality. Eventually I realized I sitting around feeling sorry for myself was getting me nowhere so I took life by the balls and joined Curves (because it was closest to the apartment.) Looking back I think the breaking point stemmed from just wanting something in my life that I could control. My life was thrown off kilter because of other people's influence on my life which I couldn't control, but I CAN control what I put in my mouth and how much I move.0
