I'm usually under my calorie count for the day but over on protein and sugar. Especially sugar.
The app says that I need 24 grams. Today I blew that away by eating 27 grams just by eating breakfast (an apple and a banana). I also would like to drink milk, but I'm reading that 2% partly skimmed milk contains 11g of sugar per 1 cup serving.
I'm reading online that you should limit your added sugar, but does that count sugar from fruit and milk? It really seems restrictive, and I know that most people who are not on diets must eat more than this because I was eating in a relatively healthy way even before I started dieting. I'm reading that you can have up to 60 grams, which I can eat and still be under my calorie count or fat and carb limit.
Is anyone else over their limit on sugar basically every day? Is this ok?

No, you shouldn't worry (unless you're like over half your daily carbs or some such) about sugars from milk, WHOLE fruits and veggies.
I go over the MFP limit for sugar every day, but it's all with whole fruits mainly.0 -
I don't count sugar from whole fruits (apples, pears, strawberries, etc). But I try to limit my fruit intake to two servings per day, and only add banana to my protein shake on weight lifting days.0

I'm trying to maintain my current weight and I've only been on MFP for only a couple of days but I'm always over on my sugar intake and always under my calorie intake I know it will take some time getting used to monitoring the numbers but it does seem that I eat a some strawberries and I'm already using up halp my sugar allowance.0

Well, if it's not mandatory and I should be fine then I'll just let myself go over. It's not a sustainable diet for the long term for me if I can't have any of my favorites and need to replace all of my meals and snacks with vegetables. A Clif bar is one of my favorite lunches but it's 22g of sugar.0

I actually had a conversation with a nutritionist about this earlier this week. Basically what I got from it is that there are people that natural sugars can harm. Those people are obviously some diabetics and people with a certain type of cholesterol issue. Other than that you don't really have to worry about natural sugars in fruits and dairy. Do keep in mind though that sugar is sugar as far as added sweetener. What I mean by that is that honey hits you just like table sugar.0
