if you get 1 gun, 1 melee weapon, 1 vehicle and 1 place to hold yourself up in. what would they be?

I would have:
Gun: machine pistols
melee: Cudgel
vehicle: army Hummer
Place: Alcatraz Prison

    I would have:
    Gun: 50 cal Desert Eagle (might as well blow the whole head off)
    melee: Machete (so I can use it for clearing a path as well)
    vehicle: Anything with 4 wheel drive and a good set of tires, You want to be able to get everywhere on and off the road. Supposing we can siphon gas from abandoned cars.
    Place: Good question.. If the weather isn't a huge issue with the cold I think I would like to live in a tree house of some sort, of course a really good one with a ladder I can pull up so that they can't just chase me up there ;)

    Costco just occurred to me last week because if you have a reasonably small group of people, you have a whole warehouse full of supplies. You just construct a barricade outside, set watches, and eat all of the perishables first!

    Gun: shotty or crossbow... it'd be a tough decision.
    Melee: would love a chainsaw bayonet (a la Gears) but if that isn't handy... probably throwing knife/knives
    Vehicle: rusty old jeep or pickup... but I'd also try to have an ATV + bicycle stashed away
    Place: Island on a lake up here in Maine... I've hand picked a few in case of zombie emergency.

    Hmmm, reading over that I seem pretty indecisive. I guess there are the things I would like for close range and then the stealth options.

    ***Edit*** goes without saying I would have some sort of water travel (canoe probably) for transport to and from said island.

    Vehicle: Small Tank. (firepower, sure, but also security)
    Hold Up Location: More rural General Store near hunting grounds. (Food and ammo. YAY!

    Gun: I don't really know guns, so one that's easy to use

    Melee: Hairspray and a lighter

    Vehicle: if the zombies run a la new Dawn of the Dead, a McLaren F1. If the zombies are slow like in classic zombie movies, I'd take a big *kitten* truck with big *kitten* tires and reinforced body.

    Hold up location: An empty cruise ship in the middle of the sea somewhere. A smaller ferry boat would be kept nearby with my cars so I could go to and from shore.
