Retin-A Reviews?

Hi everyone, I just got prescribed the generic for Retin-A (Tretinoin) .025% for my moderate acne breakouts. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this cream? How did it work for you? Will I break out bad the first few weeks? Any tips on how to prevent side effects will be greatly appreciated.

xoxo

I put this in the wrong forum, sorry. But I would still love some feedback.

I used it about 15 years ago or so and I remember it being pretty rough on my skin. Redness, irritation, and very dry. Definitely get a good moisturizer!

Oh, and in the end it didn't really work for me and I moved on to something else. It did help a little... I don't remember much about how it reacted when I first started using it since it was quite a long time ago. :)

Read and research as much as you can about it. The advantages and disadvantages. When using it, please make sure you are in direct contact with the prescribing physician.

I'm on it now. I can't remember how bad I broke out in the beginning -- that may be a good thing though. I honestly don't know how much it does, I'm on other creams and pills for acne. I never had a ton of acne to begin with but you'd think with the amount of stuff I'm using and healthy i'm eating, I'd look perfect. I'd probably look the same if I went off everything but who knows.

It's not bad at all as far as dry skin or burning. Good luck!

I've used a stronger percentage for years. Love it. It's the only thing that keeps my skin from being a complete disaster (and I've tried everything). It will definitely take some adjustment time- maybe a month, but it's worth it. The improvement in texture is really significant (although I always peel a little during the adjustment period).

Be careful if you have sensitive skin- my daughter was put on it for a skin condition when she was six and it gave her horrible burns. :frown:
