Cholesterol Question

I understand that there are two types of cholesterol: HDL and LDL. I recorded a normal level of LDL but I recorded an above-normal-range of scoring for HDL. Because of that, my total cholesterol level exceeded the normal range of cholesterol level.
Is this something I should worry about?

Not at all. Your HDL should be high and your LDL low. Your ratio is more important than your total cholesterol number. So it sounds like you are just fine. What are your numbers?0

Ratio of Total / HDL is the thing that determines heart risk. Lower is better.

I don't know how to interpret it well but here's my result (mmol/L):
Cholesterol 6.4
Triglycerides 0.6
HDL 2.78
LDL 3.30 -

I don't think there is such a thing as HDL too high. The higher the "good" cholesterol number is the better for you.0

My LDL is 104, my HDL is 124 (not a typo). My doctor told me I have nothing to worry about.0

All these numbers are always confusing to me. But I guess it should be ok for mine since the doctor didn't alert me on anything unusual... I want to track my cholesterol level because I eat a lot of eggs and I'm curious to know if egg yolk causes a spike in cholesterol.0

As for egg yolks causing a spike in cholesterol. It depends on who you talk to. Some people say yes, some people say no.0

Dietary cholesterol has little to no impact on your blood cholesterol numbers. So, eggs are no longer considered an enemy of those with high cholesterol.0
