I have been staying within my calories, and im set to weigh myself first thing in the morning on Mondays. This morning i weighed almost 2 pounds more than I did 4 days ago
oct 1st- 138.8
oct5- 140.6

Could this just be water weight or be the fact that I havent had a b.m yet today?
I have a physical job 3x's a week, and then i go to the gym 3x's a week.
This is sooo fustrating iv been tryingsoo hard! being so good!
I just want an reasonable explantion!

I truly understand how you feel, I too weigh on Monday morning (will change that to Fridays) I joined this site 9-11-09 and I have been doing everything that I know of. I have been drinking 64oz of water, eating within my calories, cutting back on sweets and sodas and doing my WII Fit about 3 days a weeks and even walking durning my lunch breaks anywhere from 20-30min at least 3 days a week. I have been weighing using my bathroom scale on Mondays and there have been no change in weight, I weight yesterday using my WII FIt scale and I have lost 1.3lbs.

I'm going to change my eating habits again this week, I'm going to starting weighing myself on Fridays using my WII FIT Scale.

What I refuse to do is give up and you shouldn't either, eventually it will happen. Keep trying!!

  • Sorry I can't help... the same thing happens to me, but it will come off. Hang in there. You look great in your picture by the way! I have just started and have been doing this for 2 weeks and haven't lost yet. But I have been lifting weights 3 days a week and doing cardio at least 2 days a week. I have also stayed within my calories everyday. I will be watching you post and see what the expert have to say about this too. I have 20 lbs to lose but I hope to have it off my March. Good luck!:flowerforyou:

It takes a little while for your body to accept the new regime. I posted a "help! I'm doing everything right and nothing's happening" post too, after about 2 weeks.

Most people say give it 3-4 weeks and if nothing is happening, still, then see about making some changes.

My weight doesn't come off in neat 1 pound per week increments (ie: every Sunday, magically in time for my Monday weigh in  ). I'll see no change at all for weeks at a time, then BAM!!!...2-3 pounds disappears.

Be patient and hang in there. Don't give up!

I know this sounds opposite, but make sure you are drinking enough water. If the body thinks it is being restricted, it will try and retain it.
Also, if your diet is salty, it will retain fluids as well.
Nutrition is sooo important when you are looking at weight loss, not just the caloric intake but what kinds of calories as well.

One more thing...in addition to drinking plenty of water and minimizing salt...are you logging every single thing you put in your mouth? Are you weighing and measuring your food or are you guesstimating?

A salad drenched in unlogged dressing is going to sabotage your good intentions for the day. A plate of pasta logged as 1 (2 oz) serving is gonna throw everything off. A juice-type drink with 600 calories and 46 sugars can send you way over your goal. Eating a "bowl" of ice cream thinking it's a serving, and it's actually 3 (1/2 cup) servings can be a disaster. Eating chips straight from the bag instead of measuring out 17 chips as per 1 serving might mean you're going over by hundreds of calories. All of this has happened to me. I learned from my mistakes, but maybe by sharing them with you, you can avoid them :flowerforyou: .

I looked at your food diary, and it seems as though you eat very small breakfasts. I see you have snacks, so maybe you're eating those in the morning, but make sure you not going on too few calories in the AM, with your busy lifestyle/job. It could cause you to eat more than you think in the afternoon/evening when you're maybe more relaxed.
