having constipation problems on the weekend

So sorry if this is TMI but I my stomach always gets weird over the weekends cause I never know what my schedule is I try to eat a lot of fiber and lettuce (for roughage/ruffage) during the week, but I still have issues over the weekend. I only drink water every day, no soda, just water and occansionally UNsweetened tea. so why am I still having this problem? Are there any other fitness tips that can help with this problem? I DO NOT and just WILL NOT use any type of medication for this problem. I have had major issues as a child, and was probably getting dependant on that stuff. I do not want that happening again.
So I guess I need some all natural solutions lol. No offense to anyone who uses medicines, but that will just get my dependant on them.

I'm interested in the answers too. I drink 12 cups of water per day and get plenty of fiber and still have some problems.0

prunes are a great natural way to get everything flowing. Prune juice or just eating them straight are both great, and they taste good.0

Probiotics -- either through pill or yogurt
Chia seeds
Metamucil (it's not a medicine it is just psylium or inulin depending on the one you get)
Flax seed would probably help too but that has to be ground and spoils easy
Prunes, pluots
Using probiotic pills is again not a medicine and you do not get dependent on them. I use them only when switching up the diet just so everything stays same.0 -
Many people drink coffee on workdays, but not weekends. Is that an issue?0

thanks for the suggestions so far, but I have tried eating prunes and prune juice and neither helps me for some reason im thinking maybe i have had too much fiber and not enough water.0

if you're eating a lot of fiber during the day, you need to make sure you get tons of liquid. everyone's body is different, so just play around with your amounts. i need to drink at least 15 cups of water to feel properly hydrated. if i take a fiber capsule, i drink a full glass of water with it.
are you drinking less caffeine on the weekends by any chance?0 -

i really don't drink anything caffeinated ever lol. i used to drink tea all the time, but now i only drink water. sometimes during the week i may have unsweetened tea but that's rare. and i don't drink coffee at all, it gives me bad headaches and i am already so hyper, it speeds up my heart too much lol0 -
For relief of constipation take a TBSP or two of flax oil - directly off of the spoon, by itself (gross I know). This will lubricate the intestines and allow for smooth passage.
If its a chronic issue I would take an encapsulated probiotic to help you break down all that fiber and get things moving. Ensure you are drinking enough water (lukewarm is supposed to be better for constipation for some reason). Slow gut motility has been linked to magnesium deficiency (which is a very common deficiency). Magnesium supplementation can also soften stool to help with constipation as well.0 -
I take psylium fiber, drink detox tea, and I make sure I have enough magnesium in my system. I recently had this problem Friday and went to get some Milk of Magnesia. Worked like a charm.0
