I just wanted to share something that im personal so proud of myself for and maybe it will motivate someone struggling out there.. would consider myself a food addict sadly i eat 4any and all reasons im sad happy depresed board whatever i eat so diet has been extremly hard for me harder than exercising was controlling my love of carbs and fast food
. Anyhow last night i finally had a girls night and went a little crazy with the beer and after the bar we went to *gasp* del taco and put away three tacos, flash forward this morning generally i would wake up feeling awful mad at myself for over indulging and throw up my hands and make a b line for the closest fast food restraunt and im not gonna lie the whole time i was hetting dressed and getting my son ready i was pouring over which food place i was gonna head to, i even asked my son where he wanted to go as if that justifies going ugh but than i decided today was the day to end this cycle what kind of example am i setting for my boy so i got off my rump and made him chicken cheese slices and apples and i decided on an omlette with avocado and peppers!! We r taking him to a drive in movie tonight so i know we will prob eat out and thats ok because i will log it and make wise choices this journey my friends isnt about depriving youself its about giving ur body what it needs and learning to have trests in moderation, i even went so far as to log last night and the results where scarry but honest.

Be true to yourself! Your worth it and its mildly strange how proud this type of victory makes you feel!! Im so proud of mysrlf thanks for listening!

Good for you! I'm a SEVERE food addict as well, so I completely empathize and can understand what a wonderful NSV this was!! You should be very proud of yourself. If ever you're in that place again, think of your boy and remember the example you're setting for him... my son is my GREATEST inspiration, and I want to be around long enough to make sure he knows about it!

Great job, and I hope you have continued success and happiness in your journey. :)

You are absolutely right. One day's overindulgence isn't going to undo all of the great progress you've made so far. When this happens again (and it probably will), remember how much better you felt about yourself when you had a healthy breakfast and got right back on track instead of making it worse.

This is about making a lifestyle change. You can't say you're never going to drink beer and eat tacos in one night again, so the only solution for your LIFESTYLE is to take care of yourself the next day and drink lots of water (to flush out that extra sodium!) and be nice to yourself about it. :)

For example, a few weeks ago I had a vacation with a group of friends and we centered a lot of our activities around eating. There was also lots of junk food about. I enjoyed everything, logged everything, moderated my portions (2 oreos instead of 8, 1 Mountain Dew can instead of 4), and the minute it was over, I was right back on my plan without missing a beat. And I didn't even gain a pound. In my lifestyle, at my eventual goal weight, I'm going to need to be able to have a week of enjoying food on vacation, but I don't need to let it turn into a full-blown relapse.

If you can control the food more often than it controls you, you'll get through this and get to your goals!
