Help after weightloss from a surgery!

So I recently had my tonsils and adenoids removed, and with it of course a massive weightloss from lack of food (pretty much been on a strictly liquid diet for the last 10 days....and maxing out my calorie count at about 500 calories a day. I'm fully aware that that's way below necessary levels etc, but I struggled with recovery and haven't been able to move onto solids yet (started on small noodles today for the first time). I've lost 15 lbs in the last 10 days.
Having lost that much weight (and I expect it may still drop further in the future as I slowly recover and begin to eat again), how do I keep the majority of the weight off?

I know and expect to be able to gain some as soon as I'm back to normal as I hydrate (I've been trying to keep the fluids up) and get my body out of the starvation mode its in, but it would be nice not to gain it ALL back if possible.

Any ideas would be helpful from anyone who's gone through something similar, so I can use this as a jumping off point instead of just bounding right back up to where I was last. Physical activity is still at a minimum so I have to be wary of not being able to do activities again just quite yet.

Thanks!
