I love creamed cucumbers! For those that don't know it's sour cream, cucumbers, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper. Should I sub greek yogurt for the sour cream?

I make a Greek type cucumber dish. I mix a tub of nonfat Greek yoghurt with about 2-3 cloves of garlic and several tsp of dill. Then I mix in cucumbers and salt.
I don't see why you can't sub the yoghurt for your sour cream. I love baked potatoes with yoghurt too. In fact, I think I prefer the yoghurt now over the sour cream.
Can't hurt to try.0 -
Go ahead and eat it the way you always do.
If you want to make a slight change, you can use half sour cream and half yogurt. My mother used to always buy this stuff called King Sour. You can easily use splenda in place of the sugar. The Greek yogurt is pretty handy!0 -
I'd sub the sour cream (with the greek yogurt) and either ditch the sugar completely (thats how I make mine since I like it tangy) or sub it with stevia0
