Top of foot pain AFTER run... What's that all about?

To summarise, I decided to start running, got my gait analysed, got some good shoes, started running (can run 24mins continuously so far) and all goes well DURING the run, but on the cooldown walk and if I walk barefoot, SO much pain!! If I start running again, no problem. What's that all about and what can I do about it? Never had any trouble with my feet before.

It's possible your running form is wrong. Are you heal striking when you run or are you landing mid-foot? Mid-foot is better.

    Are you stretching sufficiently?

It's also possible that you simply got the wrong shoes.

If it keeps up I would consult a doctor just in case.

Yes, I heel strike and also over prolate slightly. This was noted when I got the shoes. It doesn't hurt when I run, but it does when I walk afterwards and it REALLY hurts if I walk barefoot. In good shoes with arch support, it's much better.
Will be gutted if it's the shoes as they were veeeery pricey :p

Perhaps going to a different running store and having them check it out may give you some answers. People can make mistakes, even so-called experts. I would recommend trying to adjust your stride so you land mid-foot since it's much easier on the feet and legs. Perhaps that would help. Just a thought. I had shin splints pretty bad until I started running mid-foot and it made all the difference.
