this much more than how I usually eat.

For Ramadan, instead of eating scattered small meals, I eat two very large meals at about 16 hours apart.
This way, i'm rarely feeling hungry or even thirsty. I get to eat as much as I want and i'm usually full before I even get to my calorie goal. I wait a couple of hours and eat something small simply to fill those extra calories. I think I might continue intermittent fasting after Ramadan if i'm still losing weight properly from this.

Do you prefer small meals throughout the day or two/three large meals?

Sounds like Intermittent Fasting. I actually prefer 2 big meals over having 5 smaller meals. Especially on days I have to work.

I usually prefer 2 - 3 larger meals per day. Seems the more often I eat, the harder it is to keep track of it all, and I end up overeating. Also, I'm working to put food thoughts into perspective, so that I'm not pre-occupied with thinking of food all day.

I prefer 2-3 large meals, feels like I'm really eating instead of itty bitty 'meals' which feel more like snacks!

It is, but it's done for a completely different reason (religious purposes), haha.

I don't understand ramadan, your not experiencing anything at all like less fortunate people do so what's the point? Also it seems like terrible way to trigger binges. I prefer scattered meals in fact I sometimes have like 5 meals a day but they're 300 calories each.

Yes, you are. At the end of the day, you are extremely grateful for the food that's put on your table and how it got there. The point is to appreciate the smaller things in life and to come to the revelation that many others don't have it quite so easy.
As for the binging- this isn't a weight loss process. It's done for religious purposes and no one is sitting there "Oh..those poor people who are attempting to lose weight, we can't possibly do this because they might do something silly." No, it's something religious and obviously if you're religious enough the weight loss issue won't be such a huge deal. I'm losing weight and it hasn't caused me to binge.

Evidently I can't fully explain why fasting is right merely because of the fact that it's not your religious. And that's all right, but you can't tell me that you don't gain anything from the experience when you've never been through it.

welcome, welcome and i agree. it is easier for me to have the normal 3 meals a day with a snack or two inbetween if needed.
