Is pretty food more enticing?

Does pretty food entice you? Let me tell you about my experience this morning.
I decided to make an open face omelet for breakfast. On medium low heat, I melted ¾ tbs butter, chopped up a ½ green onion and threw it in the pan to sauté. While that was going on, I beat 2 large eggs and 1tbs water in a bowl and added salt and pepper.
I turned the heat down, added the eggs and put the lid on to facilitate cooking the top of the eggs as well. just before done, I added one ounce shredded cheddar cheese, about 1/3 cup of shredded, garden fresh zucchini, and 1/3 cup chopped tomato returning the lid and taking off the heat and let set for about a minute, a minute and a half.
I slid the omelet from the pan onto a lovely glass salad plate, peeled an orange to accompany my omelet and then sat down at the table.
As I sat there looking at my breakfast I was so overcome by how ‘pretty’ it was. The base of the egg kissed by the fresh green shades of the zucchini topped with the brilliant red of the tomato just made me smile.
I totally found my breakfast more enjoyable and very enticing. The flavor was heavenly and I literally treasured my breakfast. The orange was a great side to my breakfast delight.
I now wish that I had taken a picture so that you could see how beautiful it was. The experience got me thinking though about how much better your eating experience is when it is presented well. Every one of my senses seemed to be heightened and it was almost a breakfast orgasm. *giggle*

Absolutely it does! That's why chefs garnish and make such beautiful plates.
I tend to do this when I have an opportunity to do do. I just made tomato soup the other day and drew across the top of it with the cream instead if just mixing it in. Tossed in a fresh basil leaf and ta da... Fancier! Made it feel that way anyways. And yeah... I took and pic and posted it.0
