Going out to thai food today- other than chicken satay what would be a healthy low cal option? I'm stumped?

I always try to go to the restaurants web page, however most often the ma and pa owned (or the better restaurants) don't have a webpage where you can get nutritional information, but you may be able to get the menu or even look at another thai restaurant's webpage to get an idea. I think in general it's all pretty much on the healthy side. I love Thai, enjoy it!!0

A lot of thai food is pan fried or even deep fried so be careful. Maybe just order what you want and eat a small portion of it. Or you could probably go with some kind of veggies & rice dish and ask them to steam your veggies & put sauce on the side. My personal favorite thai dishes are green curry with tofu (oh yeah, it's fried tofu) and pad se ew with tofu (again, fried). The curry has tons of coconut milk which is definitely not low cal. The pad se ew is stir fried wide rice noodles with a sweet peanuty sauce so that's also definitely not low cal. I would probably opt for a small portion of whatever I really wanted. But that's just me.0

Yum!!! Spicy Chicken Pad Thai... not the healthiest choice but you can always bring home a doggie bag or split the order with someone.0

Why no coconut milk?
It's one of the healthiest foods on earth!0 -

I wasn't suggesting you shouldn't have coconut milk. All I said is that it isn't a LOW CALORIE food. Because, see, that was the OP's request -- a "low cal" option.
Peanut butter is good for you too, but I'm not going to suggest someone looking for a low calorie snack eat 10 tablespoons of peanut butter.0 -
thai food is yummy. and spicy food makes you burn more calorie.0

I had thai last night and got the duck curry. Its in my log if you want to see the info. It was delicious (as is most curry) and not too terrible in calories.0

The Thai place near my appartment has a couple dishes that aren't smothered in sauce so I usually go for one of those. I have no proof they are lower cal, but it just seems intuitive.0
