WHEN WEARING YOUR FITBIT ULTRA during a bike ride, would you still wear it on your waistband or bra or where???

I've not got one but from what I've read, it won't work for thus buoy need a heart rate monitor. Someone more knowledgable will correct me if I'm wrong though.0

No, you're right, it doesn't know you're on a device so it's going to estimate calories as if you're doing something on the ground that's making your torso move in that way. Some people manually log cycling calories (or synch with Endomondo, a smart phone app). Some put the Fitbit on their shoe or thigh and find they're ok with the burn that way. Last time I rode I just kept it on my waistband and I found it did count foot strokes as 'steps', which was good enough for me.0
