I have been using MFP for just over a year and its truly the best weight loss site I have ever used it helped me lose 28lb and I have been maintaining since Aug 2011. I have logged nearly ever day and thought I would be lost without MFP.
I went on holidays for 2 weeks and as I don't have a smart phone was "off-line" the whole time and was very stressed about this thought before I went. However after the first day I said "what the hell its only 2 weeks" and I really enjoyed myself on holidays held nothing back ate and drank what I wanted and as much as I wanted and with no scales either could no check the damage
I got home and checked the scales to find I am 8lbs up but really I am not worried at all as I know with MFP I will have that gone in no time but here are a few important things I learnt with this two week break:-
1. I have become food obsessed watching and thinking about everything I ate feeling really guilty for having that extra biscuit etc.
2. I am also scales obsessed jumping on it every morning and beating myself up for a 2 or 3lb gain
3. I binge eat at least once over the weekend not log it and then spend the week trying to "make-up" for it.
4. I ate easily 2000-4000 calories every day while away for 16 days and only gained 8lbs which is nothing really
5. I never over ate once while I was away I was able to stop and not eat the whole bar of chocolate or the whole pack of crisps
So where do I go now?? Well as soon as I get back to my goal weight the scales will be gone for one and in the meantime I will only get on them once a week. I am going to stop obsessing over everything I eat, I will be sticking with MFP but not letting myself make food my every waking thought as life if for living and food is for enjoying.
Of course this is only my weight-loss story but I hope you found it interesting

Pretty much confirms that when I hit goal weight I have got to put the scale away and pick fitness goals to concentrate on instead. I'm a big scale junkie and food logger/obsesser. I think I need that right now to get where I'm going, but once I get there, I don't want to be a nutty calorie counter without even a rare break once in awhile. Emphasis on rare, though!0
