I love these stories, and the misdirection the title portrays.
Yes you should be careful and clean when preparing your meals. However most of us do something far more dangerous everyday than eating tainted lettuce....it's called driving to work.

It's a wonder my siblings and I ever survived our childhood eating all those raw tomatoes straight out of the garden and without washing them first!0

Typical - the consumer is told to be careful, but why is this food contaminated in the first place? Why isn't agribusiness taking decisive steps to control this contamination AT THE SOURCE??? :explode:
I know what I grow in my garden is safe to eat, but unfortunately lettuce doesn't grow that well in winter0
