SNACKS LOW ON CALORIES!!!

Hi everyone, I have been having a hard time trying to find snacks with zero or small amout of calories for in between meals. I sometimes get super hungry and I decide to have a snack bar and there goes like 150-200 calories :(.

I would really appreciate your help :)

apples, berries, melons, veggies, string cheese, low fat cottage cheese (very filling b/c of the protein), dried apricots (6 are about 100 calories, are filling and have a ton of potassium) :)

Well..... 100 calorie pack almonds, Cheese stick low fat/light, apple, plums, frozen grapes, fat free cottage cheese, sugar free/fat free jello pudding and my favorite... Nutrigrain waffles lowfat with 1 teaspoon of reduced fat peanut butter.
These are a few of what I eat. I gave up the bars b/c they are so high in everything! I try to stay away from processed carbs.
    Good luck!

i enjoy fruit! like watermelon.. or laughing cow cheese wedge and half a red apple.. way low calorie and yum.. or a nimble balance bar for women 120 cals.. (try to get nutritious /fruit/.. or even 1tbsp peanubutter and celery.. something with more protein to keep you full longer.. one time for some reason i was STARVIN after lunch time.. and I made a veggie omelette.. (mushrooms bay spinach) w/egg whites.. and lil mozz cheese over the top and salsa.. and man so so good and very low cal =)

I know this is going to sound weird...but I have taken to eating mushrooms like apples. I buy a massive bag of them, keep them in the fridge in a bowl uncovered. They stay fresh and crunchy and I'm addicted!

*waits* for someone to tell me mushrooms are bad LOL...

I like to slice a persian cucumber long ways with a little salt and pepper, filling and it takes me longer to eat then most bars so mentally I feel like I ate more.

I also like 100 cal pack almonds - the cocoa roast ones are especially great when I'm looking for something sweet. Sugar Free jello or pudding with a tbsp. of cool whip is good too.

you've gotten some great suggestions...i agree, go with fruits and veggies, nuts (small amounts) and cheese sticks. the only thing I'd like to add is to watch the "bang" you get for your "buck". If the snack has a few more calories but has good nutrients, healthy fats and/or natural fiber, it is going to be better for you! The fiber, healthy fat, and protein rich snacks (such as nuts) are going to satisfy you and keep you content longer before you feel hungry again, so in the long run they will be better for you...also, remember to drink plenty of water. that helps keep me from being a fridge-raiding lunatic in the evenings too!

Another thing I do to avoid hunger, if I am low on fibre for the day, and if I'm craving some sweetness, I have some Benefibre. Fills you up, it's sweet, and it's really delicious, plus provides a bit more fibre in your diet. Very low cal too.

Seriously the best way is fruits and veggies as most have stated, Personally I try to have them already weight out and in a drawer in the fridge and ready to go. If you want something sweet, I have Nestle Fat Free hot cocoa (20cal) and a some fresh fruit in a bowl with Fat Free cool whip and Walden Farms Chocolate drizzeled over it. Waldens Farm stuff you can have and basically not count its zero everything. Its not as good as the real deal but fix's that craving.
