My name is Tiffany. I am a 26 yr old single mom of two, Kami=6 and very active little Noah=4. I had been going to the gym 5 days a week for 30 mins/day up until two weeks ago do to situations where I could not go. I have started going back today and hope to get back on track with exercising this week. My mom is the one that actually told me about this web site, so I figured I would try it out.

Hi Tiffany, and welcome to THE best site on the web! :flowerforyou:
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:
As for exercise, it doesn't always have to be awful. For my exercise, I walk almost every day, (weather permitting!) I also dance to a fast oldies CD that my husband made up of all my favorite old songs. (Like "Love Shack", Wild, Wild West", "Mony, Mony", "Footloose", and "Gloria")
It's free, (unlike a gym!) fun, and I can even watch tv at the same time, so I never get bored!
I also recently aquired the Wii Fit, and jog to that, which is a lot of fun, and easy too!
So, to make a LONG story short, make good food choices, eat in moderation, get some exercise, and you WILL lose the weight that you want to!0 -
Welcome, this site is so cool..It keeps track of everything for you..just never give up..today wasn't a great day for me at all..I worked way to hard in the yard yesterday so today my body made me pay for it and it had to rest..to much pain for a 50 year old body..but tomorrow back at it0

I just started losing weight about one month ago....I weighed 170 pounds and started feeling really bloated and my hands began to swell. I realized that i had never weighed that much in my life! I couldn't get my rings on my fingers. That was the most scariest moment for me. I knew then it was time to cut all that mess out and get back on track with my fitness. I have always been active in my life but somewhere lost track of my eating habits and let myself go. I cut cokes and caffeine for two weeks first. That was so hard ....then i cut back on food and jumped on slim fast. I take one slim fast shake in the morning, and one at lunch....then eat a small meal at dinner time and hit the gym. I lost ten pounds in one month and am down to 160 now. That felt great! I signed up for some fitness deal and got this website... Now i am jumping on to maintain and gather support and track all my calories, eating, and fitness. I also want to meet others and see how they did it to loose weight and maintain...
