Reached goal - how to build lean muscle now?

Hoping to hear from some of the really super-fit, super smart trainer/nutritionist types on this one. I have had great success since January - dropped about 38 pounds (205 down to 167). I lost at a healthy pace (about 1 pound per week) and I have been doing P90X religiously.
I am not unhappy with how I look in the mirror (I have always been pretty athletic, bulky and active, even at 205) - but what I am noticing now is that actually looks like I am losing a bit of muscle as a result of the weight loss. I sort of understand how the body cannot both lose fat and build muscle at the same time, so my question is, is there a way for me to stay at the weight I am now (or maybe go up slightly to say 170) and increase my muscle mass a bit?
I really don't want to do any sort of crazy/complex protein or carb loading intake nonsense - I just want a basic suggestion on my diet make up and exercise approach to maintain my current weight, but build some more lean muscle mass.
Thanks!
