Thyroxine and weight loss??

Does anyone know much about thyroxine or low thyroid problems??
My free T4 (thyroxine) levels are low. I was wondering is this because of my weight loss (not that 4kilos or 8.8lbs is alot to lose).
Is my calorie restriction causing this low thyroxine?
Im exercising regularly, I eat pretty well balanced meals, sometimes I go a bit over in my calorie intake and other days Im a bit lower than suggested. Im 5ft and 54kilos so I don't need a lot of calories a day. I have lost 4kilo (lost 8lbs in 6 months).
Does a low thyroxine level mean its going to be even harder for me to achieve my goal weight of 50kilos(110lbs)? Im only another 8lbs away...

A book that you might want to see if your library has is "Living Well With Hypothyroidism" by Mary Shomon.
It has lots of valuable information in it .0 -
I have hypstyroidism too. I was diagnosed with it before I ever needed to lose weight. I've delt with it for six years and noticed exercise helps tremendously. For me it's not necessarily harder to lose weight if I eat correctly and exercise; however, it seems very easy to gain weight (especially if I'm not taking my medication). As long as I exercise regularly and take my medication I have plenty of energy. Ask your doctor!!! Hope this helps....0

I'm not completely sure what causes low levels.
I'm hypothyroid. I've been on medication for several years now. In my teens I stopped taking it for about a year and packed on 20 lbs. I ate pretty unhealthy at the time and never exercised. Since I got a good schedule with exercise and ate clean (for the most part!) with my medication I haven't had trouble with my weight. I lost it all consistently.
It can be harder to achieve weight loss with thyroid issues. It depends on the person, sometimes. Try asking your doctor if you need to be on a medication to help regulate it. Good luck!0 -
Im not sure if Ive always had low thyroid levels as I only checked it this year. But I have always struggled with fatigue and my weight.
Im having another set of blood test done in 3months.
I wonder in the meantime if there is any food that can help.. I'l grab that book you reccomended Cindy.. must keep up the exercise as well
Thanks guys!!!0
