Calling all men who love video games!

I want to surprise my boyfriend with a video game, but as a non-gamer, I am confused on which one to buy him! He loves Call of Duty and has already beat Grand Theft Auto Liberty City. Pretty sure he likes all those types of shooting games. Not really into the Fantasy stuff. I would prefer to get him a used game since money is a bit tight, but I want to be sure he likes it.
Is Left for Dead a good option? Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition? An older Grand Theft Auto Game (if so which one)?
I would appreciate any help since I am a bit lost on this issue :flowerforyou:

What is he playing the games on? PC? PS3? Xbox360?
If playing on a console there are some newer Grand Theft Auto games. (San Andreas or GTA4)
Left 4 Dead 1 or 2 are pretty good games played them for HOURS!
The Call of Duty series is also good.0 -
Red Dead Redemption is immense. Buy him that and all will be well.
Not brand new by any means, but it's a total classic, and if he likes the GTA style games he should like that.
Also, Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are awesome, and he would pretty much definitely like those, but from the games you've mentioned RDR is a safer bet.
If you do get any of these though, prepare not to speak to him for a few weeks. Also, please avoid use of the phrase "it's only a game". I hate violence against women, but christ if it didn't take a lot of willpower when my ex (notice - ex) used to say that not to put holies in walls... lol0 -

This is also awesome.
Not like any other game out there. It's not possible to not get to the ending, you just change how it plays out by how you choose to do certain things, or by how well you do at certain bits.0 -
Sorry, he has an Xbox 360
And no worries about me saying it's just a game. I usually play with him or enjoy watching! I am just not very good hehe
I am thinking either Red Dead Redemption, Left 4 Dead or a Grand Theft Auto game.
Is GameStop the best place to purchase them?0
