Pain after exercise

I worked out on Monday and it hurts to walk. I was going to work out the next day but decided to take a rest. The question I have is it better to work out the next day or rest inbetween, I have heard both. I currently work out M,W,and Friday. Two days with a trainer and 1 day of boot camp.

I would think that it's best to rest in between especially if you are doing weight training exercises. Your muscles need time to heal.

hmm i do boot camp on MWF in the AM, so TU/THURS I still do some light cardio on the elliptical for about 30 mins.
just make sure u stretch before and stretch after. don't matter how silly u think u look , it makes a great difference.0 -
I majored in personal training and you shouldn't be that sore if you stretched enough and the right way. It's ok to do a light workout the next day but you do need to take a day off . If you are the type of person that gets bored with working out or tired of it. Then it's better to do MWF.0

There could be a lot of variables. Are you just starting out exercising? Is this a new exercise for you? Have you injured yourself recently? Are you doing cardio or weight lifting?
While you should be able to do some sort of exercise everyday, you would probably want a rest day between weight lifting for the same muscle groups. If it is cardio, you should be able to do it everyday, but if you are having pain, you might want to back off for awhile to prevent injury. If you are new to exercising and/or this is a new exercise for you, then incorporate it slowly. Again to prevent injury.
Sometimes pain needs to be better defined. It usually takes me 10 minutes or so to "get into" the cardio. Before that, I will have some aches and minor pain in the muscles. In the past, I've had shin splints and plantar fascitis(sp) from walking. So, it is probably also a good idea to change up the type of cardio. Currently, I use the eliptical. And yeah, I get some aches and pains, but nothing worrisome. And, when I first started, it was hard to go more than a couple of minutes without some muscle pain. But over time, I was able to increase the exercise time.0 -
