Last week I weighed 183.
I followed the calories, I am doing the insanity workout.....how in the hell did I gain 8lbs?
I'm lost.
That tape measurer better show me that something shrunk or momma's not gonna be happy.

You most likely didnt gain 8 lbs in a week.. its probably water weight, make sure you are eating correctly with Insanity since it is an intense program0

Most likely a good portion of water weight.
Exercise will cause muscles to start storing more nutrients (since they are being used more often, the body figures keep their supplies high). This takes water.
Additionally, more sodium in the diet will also cause more water retention.0 -
The answer is usually a) water retention, b) over estimation of calories burned, c) under estimation of calories consumed, or d) a macro nutrient imbalance.
My advice is take an honest look at what you're doing and reevaluate your plan.0 -
You didn't say if you were on Day 2 or Week 3 or just finished the whole thing. More info needed. But it sounds normal. Maybe on the higher side of normal, but your body composition and diet will play a factor. Insanity is an intense pounding workout that you body will react to by storing fluids. Trust me, you didn't gain 8 pounds of fat in whatever time period this took place0

Sorry you guys.....I'm on week 2 of Insanity. I just weighed myself last Monday and I was 183lbs....that's what threw me for a loop. My 18yr old ( who does 2 a days for football) told me that I probably gained some muscle and water retention. And I know that muscle weighs more than fat....but 8lbs...
I will keep going and keep track....I try to eat everything that MFP tells me too. I add in the exercising and it adds calories and I try to consume them all, that way I'm not starving myself.
So we'll see....just very depressing...0
