Gym membership

Here's the latest story: A local gym here called to say I was put into a drawing by a member there to win a 2-year free membership for 2 people. So I am going after work to check it out. Not sure when I would be able to utilize it but emailed the hubby to see what his thoughts are. I could benefit from this but the last gym I went to, I hated it!
So, for those who have, had or are considering, what benefits do you get from a gym? How often do you use it? What do you like about it? Hate about it?
I am starting my second round of P90X today. I want to do that no matter what. So, my first thought is P90X every morning then gym 3xs per week. I know in the winter I will would rather do the gym than go outside in the snow. I have a treadmill that I hate because its old and loud and I can't use it without feeling like its gonna break.
So, I am debating. I could always give the memberships away (its for two people). And I'm pretty sure its an all female gym.

I like gym memberships, because I run and living in FL it is too hot and sometimes slighty dangerous(car drivers) to run outside. I like the option of having the different machines for strength training. The only downfall that I am having with gyms is the men. Sorry guys, but a lot of gym men are complete machine and free weight hoggers. They also sweat all over the machines and never wipe them off.
I've been going to a gym for years and over the past month or so I have been looking around for an all women's gym. I would check out the gym and see if you are going to use what they offer. I go 3 to 4 times a week and I'm getting ready to up my strength training session, so I might be going 5 days a week.0 -
After emailing some friends asking about this gym they said its a scam. $8 month maintenance fee that has to be paid right up front. And this gym is apparently where most of the cage fighters in my area train. I'm gonna pass on this one. I have enough stuff at home to do what I need to do.0
