I have been signed up for the Gladiator run in October and a Mud Factor run in November...

What would be your best advice for preparing myself for the event?

Work on your upper body strength especially for climbing ropes, walls, monkey bars...things of that nature. Other than that, it's sheer will and determination to get through it! Good luck!!

Don't wear cotton shirts or pants. Do full-body strength training and cardio.

    - Tie your shoes on TIGHT! Double knot those bad boys. You'll appreciate it when you hit the mud.
    - Wear quick dry fabrics.
    - strength training. Squat, squat, squat. Then do all the push-ups. I ran a Warrior Dash yesterday and blew past other women on the obstacles, watching them struggle to pull their body weight over things made me feel powerful.
    - Figure out why you're doing it and remember that when you're struggling on the course
    - sunblock is amazing
