    I've been reading some about this in a few books, one specifically does a great job explaining the issue with grains - Nourishing Traditions. Its been proven in most cultures that grains, nuts and seeds should be soaked before consumption. Pretty sure thats not a "fad."

    Here is a great link for anyone that would like to know more - in the book it mentions the problem with gluten intolerance and many other issues associated with poor forms of grain consumption.

    I reckon there are plenty of people out there with undiagnosed (sub-clinical) issues with grains. To be diagnosed with celiac disease you have to be so far gone it is unreal. It's a sliding scale of gut issues (leaky gut syndrome) in reality.

    But hey, the 'everything in moderation, just stick to your calorie goal' message sounds so damned sensible so why rock the boat? ;)
