Almost 50, fat and not fanatical.

I am new here. I have been fat forever. I quit smoking 13 months ago and packed on another 30+ lbs.
I am nearly 50, 6'0" tall and started this journey at 318. 133lbs over "ideal".
My current weight is 306.
I don't plan on cutting ANY food groups out of my life. I want to learn how to eat and exercise like a normal person. I want to walk up a flight of stairs without having to HAUL myself up by the handrail. I want to stop panicking whenever an airline agent walks by while I'm waiting for a flight. I want to be able to order a new office chair without having to tell them to buy the "over 300lb" version. I want to be able to get down on the floor (and back up) and play with my grandson.
My daughter introduced me to this site. I love tracking all the foods I eat. I track EVERY bite. If it puts me over, I need to face that and not live in denial. I don't count anything as exercise unless it is something I don't normally do. I log on every day, multiple times. I am getting a handle on the eating first and plan to begin introducing exercise shortly. I already feel the "urge" to get moving since I started eating healthier. I'm not a big meal eater, but kind of graze all day long.
I have a dry sarcastic sense of humor and think laughter can get you through anything.
