fitbit and walking

Ok I have a question...if I take a walk or walk on my treadmill do I log the walk seperate from what I get from fitibit at the end of the day when it calculates my steps? I don't want to double log, but when I walk on my treadmill I walk faster than I would if I was just taking steps around the house. I do have a HRM that I usually wear. Thoughts please and thank you!!

I started taking mine off when I do the bike or the treadmill. I use the machine's distance for that.0

Since you have a HRM I would do both at the same time and compare the results. Start your HRM log the same time you start a fitbit activity record. Then stop them at the same time. You will be able to see what the burn is for each device. Depending on how fast you walk/run the HRM may be more accurate. You have the option to input the calorie burn manually so if you want to change you have the ability to do so. If the HRM is set up with your current stats - age, weight, height etc - it should be more accurate.0
