Timing of Meals

I did search first but didn't find what I need. I am sure I have read here many times that the timing of your meals, meaning whether you eat a big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner, etc., makes no difference for fat loss. Does anyone have those studies? I have a friend who was asking about whether to eat all carbs early in the am; eat more in the am and less as the day progresses; etc. And I truly believe after 14 months on this site from what you guys have all said that it makes no difference as far as fat loss, it is calories in and calories out. I understand that it basically is whatever you prefer. But I'd love to point her to an article. Anyone have something?
