not sure I'll completely stick with using this tool but I'm going to start. I tend to get a little freaky about calories if I pay too close attention (don't eat enough). But I've slowly but surely gotten to the place of turning around some really bad habits I started a year ago when I started a new job. Like letting myself eat whatever I wanted, scones way too many mornings than I care to remember, drinking coffee, drinking wine, going out to dinner and eating well beyond fullness, not finding a good exercise plan.
6 yrs ago I had breast cancer, lost weight (to the point of too thin but gained back to a good weight, about 5# under what I was before), was in really good shape and taking really good care of myself. Then 2 years ago lost the job of my dreams to layoff, was unemployed for a year and then started a new job a year ago. I still do what I love but not in the place I love. Anyway, in the midst of all that was dx with HTN (thought I would avoid the family curse due to good living - oh well). Anyway, all that to say, I ended out probably a few pounds heavier than pre-cancer (I can't bear to step on a scale - either way it affects me too strongly to see the numbers) with a 55 year old's gut (starting to look like my mother....) and not exercising as regularly as I should have. Even stopped going to my martial arts class for a few months. I'm not overweight, just not as comfy as I'd like to be.
Now, back to working out in class (will be testing for 3rd degree black belt next summer), exercising 5-6 days/week, gave up the scones and other junk, drinking less, off BP meds and keeping it under control.
So, I'll track things a bit and see what happens.
