Does anyone have any good tailgating recipes? It's football season, and every Saturday I completely blow my 1200 calorie allotment. Thanks! :)

Try a taco dip with baked chips

    Layer in this order:

low-fat refried beans, low-fat sour cream, lettuce, low-fat cheese, salsa, jalepenos, black olives

    Eat with baked chips

Many items can be purchased with no-fat

I feel your pain!!!!! We usually grill out so that never turns out too bad, I also make a pasta salad....

    Barilla Plus Bowties
    1 diced orange pepper
    1 diced yellow pepper
    1 diced green pepper
1/2 pt cherry tomato (cut in half)
    1/2 c. diced red onion
1 lb cooked shrimp (cut in half if they are large)
    Fat free feta (1 package)
Olive tapinade or pitted chopped kalamata olives (use to your taste)
Farmer Boy Greek Dressing- about half a bottle
1/4 c. chopped fresh oregano (loosely packed)
    3 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint
    3 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
    Lemon juice (to taste)
    Salt and Pepper

~ This makes a huge amount, but it is great the next day and the day after and the day after that!

Well, I love hot dogs, so here is my version and it is easily translatable to tailgates or whereever you want to take it.

1 whole wheat hot dog bun = approx 90 calories
1 oscar meyer bun length dog = 170 calories
2 tablespoons of Kelley's homemade black bean & corn salsa = 15 calories

    275 calories

    Recipe for salsa
1 can of black beans rinsed and drained
3/4 can Niblets corn (small can)
4 to 5 tbsp. of On The Border salsa (depending on how wet you like it)
1 to 2 tbsp. chopped garlic (depends on your taste)
Lite salt and pepper to taste

I keep this in my fridge at all times. I eat it with baked Tostitos for a treat or snack, and on eggs or salads. It is a great alternative to condiments on your hot dog. I promise, you won't miss the chili, mayo, ketchup or mustard.

Pack extra with Baked Tostitos for all the other tailgaters. They will love it! Good Luck!
