Indoor Trainers?

I started the 30 Day Shred the other day and because I did it indoors and I just got brand new and very cream coloured carpets in my front room I didn't wear trainers/shoes. Unsurprisingly ,my feet and ankles started to ache and I had to stop. I don't want to wear my trainers in the front room because they are my gym and running trainers and they are all mucky.
What do you guys do when doing the shred? Are there such things as indoor trainers, that are very lightweight but also give your ankles enough support?
I live in the UK so any suggestions for specific footwear would need to be available in the UK.
Thanks everyone

You can by exercise flooring that you can put over the carpet. It comes in sections that snap together and come apart very quickly. About 20.00 at Walmart here, I imagine you can find something similar. I used to put them down before doing plyo x. Their cushioned also, makes it easier on the feet....and you can wear your trainers and spare the carpet.0
