Hi guys and gals
Hoping some trainers or experienced excercisers can help. Im developing shin pain not so bad.i can't exercise but im aware of it during load bearing exercise (think jumping jacks and jump rope in 30DS). I dont have a car so walk everywhere but it feels like a strain against muscles.i use regularly. I used to run but its not the unbearable pain of shin splints. Any ideas or advice welcome. Im only on day three of 30DS and feel stronger with every session so dont want this turning into something nasty.
Thank you so very much in advance if you can help.

I'm actually interested in that myself. I'm on day 8 of 30 DS and I also run three times a week ... and walk quite a bit. I also have a mild shin pain ... well ... it's actually quite bothersome because I've never had it before and it just irks me. I don't want to aggravate it and I'm actually considering replacing all the jumping jacks, butt kicks and jump ropes with the squat punches.
Anyone with any knowledge of the subject out there???
Thank you!0 -
I ended up getting a mild case of shin splints when I started 30DS. I got thru Level 1 but I ended up taking a break after that cuz my shins would hurt from the jumping jack and the jump rope. I did a lot of power walking too so that didn't help. My problem was I was using old shoes. I went to a running store and got fitting for some decent shoes. I also now use a yoga mat for many of the impact exercises even if they don't use them on the video. I was able to finish the 30DS and had some decent results from it.
During the time that I took a break from the 30DS I did go to the gym, use the elipticles and did some swimming. I also do more weights now. I would take ibprophen for the pain and ice my shins often, always after any workout and whenever they would bother me. That really helped. Also, walking on your heels is helpful to strengthen up those muscles.
Hope that helps. I also tell anyone who is doing 30DS that a good pair of supportive shoes and a mat are a must. Good luck!0
