Hi Guys!
I just got the INSANITY workout program and need a little bit of motivation. Is there anyone who has the program and would like to start it with me? I would love to have someone to go through this journey with so that we can hold each other accountable and stay motivated. Also if there is anyone that has already done the program I would love to have your feedback on it.
Thanks,
Ashley

Hey Ashley!
I'm actually a month into Insanity right now (Recovery Week). I'll be on to month two next week... but would love to support you on your journey!
Here are a couple of tips that have been most helpful for me:
- Take breaks when needed, but keep moving. If you have to stop pushing through the workout sequences, don't sweat it. But pace around or jog or do slow jumping jacks. This way you continue to push the burn, but also give yourself a chance to recover.
- Set small goals for yourself. I'm pretty competitive so I want to be able to keep up with the big dogs straight out of the gait. But sometimes I just can't keep up with Mr. Shaun T (which can frustrate me, lol). So I'll set mini challenges to help myself stay motivated but not get frustrated. For example, when doing the basketball drills I'll set a goal to keep going until I've completed 15 sets... if I have energy left over I keep going
- MOST IMPORTANT!!! Get your nutrition in check. Please be sure you are fueling yourself with right rood and the right amount of calories. Nothing has been more frustrating for me than to work my booty off and then undo my work with crummy eating
Best wishes and Have Fun!0 -
I'm on day two of month 2... URGH! I love it though!
I agree with the break thing, like the man says, don't compromise your form! Plus it does get easier quickly.
I tend to try keep up for the first set or so then simplify if I need to, i.e. just push ups instead of wierdy jumping ones, or press-ups on my knees... or take a break but I HAVE to do the last 10 seconds of each set. I'm amazed how much my energy comes back when he says "10 seconds left!" lol.
Just go for it hun and Dig Deep!0 -
Oh yeah, make sure you've eaten enough before starting... the days when I haven't are impossible!0

I am ordering it today! My husband and I want to do it together. To be honest, I'm afraid it will be to intense and I will fail. I would love to have support from those who have done it. I have been doing the 30 Day Shred with Jillian and like it a lot! Good luck to everybody on their goals!0

I'm on my recovery week right now! Feel free to add me!0

Food is HUGE with this program. I'm supposed to eat 1850 calories, but this past week I didn't eat nearly that much and I found that it was super HARD getting through the routines. I couldn't even give myself the usual pep talk to dig deeger. Going into week four I've once again upped my cals and have started to feel more energized - YAY :0)0

I need to start Insanity again. I started it a few months ago and I hurt my ankle and I was put back from any type of excercise for two months so now I'm back and working out regularly.0

I'd only eaten 500 cals by the time I did my work out yesterday and it burned 500... blah! Had to have a lot of chicken!0 -

I worried about the same thing but, whilst it wasn't "easier" than I thought it also was not as impossible as I thought!
Plus I like to out-perform my boyfriend! And the results were quick to show, that always helps!0 -
I will definitely do it with you! I just finished my fit test last night so i am on day 1 starting this evening! Add me as a friend!! Lets help to motivate each other!!0

Hi guys,
I am re-starting insanity tomorrow. I had sort of completed month one before holidays, visiting friends etc led to some missed sessions which ended up breaking the momentum, motivation and results. It was only two weeks ago that I stopped but figure its now or never to get back on the band wagon and start again. I was enjoying the sessions and other than the first two days, soreness was minimal. What I have realised is unless I get my nutrition sorted, I am never going to see the results. I found I was hungry all the time and this time around I need to have better discipline in having healthy snacks ready and log onto MFP to keep things in check.
Lets try and keep one another on track as I am confident we can all be fitter and leaner if we do (and ignore the scales!)0 -
I'm on wk 3 month 1. I started at the end of May but stopped due to injury! I'm back at it now; feel free to add me.0

I have been thinking about starting it! My brother is thinking about it as well. I have it just sitting here, but I am scared of not being able to do it because I am so out of shape. But this post has just motivated me. Might give it a go tonight! Feel free to add me guys. I could use all the extra push I can get. LOL0

Feel free to add me! I am re-starting disk one today. I started but due to several interruptions didn't keep up with it. I am committed to keep it up this time. It is an awesome workout. Just don't be afraid to go at your own pace. It gives you plenty of room to build up and improve.0

I plan on starting it on Sunday, I was going to start it this past Sunday but my chiropractor messed my back up and I am off the board until hopefully this weekend. I started it once before but got wrapped up in other workouts and let this one slide. I know people that have done it and love it. I will be here to cheer you on!0
