All I ever really see on here are these huge loses. It's amazing, don't get me wrong, and congrats to anyone reading but I would like to see something I can relate to.
Are there any 'average' or 'slightly over weight' girls who came on here to lose anywhere up to 50 lbs?
I'm 5'6", currently hovering around 145lbs. Started around 155-160 and looking to be 110-115.
If you have even relatively similar stats, or weight loss goals please post pictures, tell me your stories etc. I just want to see some stories and meet some people I can relate to.

I'm in the same range... looking to lose like 20 lbs... then maybe another 10 depending on how my body is doing then.. All the 50, 100+ plus stories are amazing, but we all know those last 10-20 lbs are the hardest to lose!0

I am 5'3 and started out around 191 and I'm currently at 134. My goal weight is 130. Good luck! I just watched what I ate and exercised.0

I'm 5' 6" I started at 206, my cw is 160. I want to lose another 15-20...get down to 140-145 depending on how I feel.
Congrats on what you've done so far!0 -
Sure. Last year I lost 20 lbs and got back down to my 2008 weight.
I did it nice and slow (around .5/week) because my goal was to keep it off for good.
I've never been overweight (even at my heaviest I was a healthy weight). I travel a lot for work and I've found MFP to be a lifesaver to help me maintain and lose a little here and there.
Not everyone uses MFP to lose a ton of weight. Some use it to continue their healthy habits.0 -

I'm 5'6 as well and currently at 143. My ideal weight is 135. I was 119 when I got married 12 years ago and that was far too thin for my frame.0 -
So far, I've lost about 26 lbs. WANT to lose 35, but we'll see how things keeps going
Here's me THEN and NOW

I am 6ft tall and started at 204lbs on January 1, 2012. Last week I weighed in at 151.2lbs. 52lbs gone in 6 months, not too shabby.0

I'm 6'1" (super tall, I know lol). Prior to joining this site, I went from 230 to 166(ish, about 64lbs lost). My goal is to be 140lbs. So, God willing, by the end of this, I'll have lost 90lbs. A girl can dream!!!0

I should add that for 5'6" the ideal weight is somewhere around 130. 110-115 as the OP stated is actually considered underweight for 5'6".
I've heard the way to calculate is 100 lbs at 5' tall. 5 lbs for every inch after that.
During college I did not even weigh enough to donate blood (112 pounds was the requirement back then). I was a size 4. I was healthy, active, and just spent much of my 20s not having to worry about weight. I was far too thin.
So, if the OP drops to below 125/130 lbs they will be considered underweight.0 -
I am 5'6" and I started at 173 just after Christmas. I am now down to 146. My goal is 140 and then continue to tone. I may go down to 135 after I've maintained for a while but I'm not sure yet. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to exercise!0

I am halfway to my goal. I have lost 19 and need to lose another 20 lbs. I can't figure out how to post pics. But in my profile my last two pics are me in March and now in July.0

The ideal weight for a 6'1" woman is...165.
Based on this: http://www.healthdiscovery.net/links/calculators/ideal_bw_women.htm
If you drop to 140 you will actually be underweight (not considered healthy any longer--that is known to be a strain on your body over time).0 -
Yep, my calculations were right on the mark.
A 5'6" woman should be 130 lbs. Otherwise she will be considered underweight (not healthy).
Here's the calculator.

I just checked. The ideal weight for a 6' woman is 160 lbs. I've often heard a healthy range is 10lbs or so (so you are right in that range).0 -
I was thin all my life. I use to dance 9 times a week. I went through a really rough period and ended up at about your start weight (I stopped stepping on the scale at 149 and went up from there). I got to the point where my resting heart rate was 110bpm. Pictures were also rare. My friend (who's a doctor) told me I needed meds and acted ultra worried. I felt week, ran out of breath easily, hardly moved at all (some of that was due to work load). I told him to give me a chance to take care of it myself.
Now:
5'7
cw: 120 lbs
rest rate: 70 bpm
bust-waist-butt: 34-25-36 inches
Where's the codergal?

Yeah, I caught that as well, 110-115 is def under weight for 5'6". OP's profile claims a history with ED...Be careful not to fall back into that trap.:frown:0 -

Ahhh...gotcha! I mean I was healthy when I was in my 20s (and weighing in at 110, 119 when I got married). It was purely genetics. Depends on a lot of factors.0
