I am looking for some type of activities and DVD workouts that I can do with an injured foot. I am recently coming out of 8 weeks in a walking cast. And a Ruptured Plantar Fascia. I am slowling walking in a tennis shoe and I really dont want to re injure it, but I feel like I am ready to do more. I have been doing aerobics in the pool and hobbling around partial weight baring in the house to keep moving..now it's time to start more cardiop..I have the 30DS and to be honest, I have never taken the plastic off of it..We have P90x and Insanity which my husband does both and I know there in no way ih heck I can do those..My foot would be reinjured within the first 5 minutes of workout..
I wanted to try Zumba for the Wii, or DVD, but wasn't sure how that was on the feet..Any suggestions..
Exercise recommendations woudl be greaet too! I am apple shaped so middle workouts could possibly be my focus..

I am not a doctor, so this is only a suggestion. I would not do 30DS. There is a lot of jumping and putting pressure on your feet. If you choose to do Zumba, I would modify the moves (most DVD's will have a low-impact version). However, I would ask your doctor first. He or she may have better suggestions of what you can do without reinjuring yourself.0

DDP Yoga is supposed to be very low impact...Any yoga really is pretty low impact.0

I am interested in this as well, for my mom. She had a few surgeries and has been recently using the pool. I have done zumba and I can't imagine that or any Jillian (she uses some plyo) would be good for lower body injuries.
What else have you been doing if you don't mind me asking? I am trying to find workouts for my mom to use. Good luck in your search! What about some sort of boxing?0 -
I had mentioned to him that I was ready to get back into exercise mode..He agreed that I needed to get the weight off so my feet could heal better..I told him I was doing water aerobics, and wanted to take up the treadmill again..his only suggestion on the tread was not too high of incline and not to fast pace..work my way back up on speed but keep the inlcine moderate my foot was comletley healed..I did a mile and ahlf yesterday..foot was burning, but not the intense pain I once had in it..But idont' want to push it..I had my incline back and forth from 2.0 to 3.5...when I started noticing it in my foot I would back off..
But I think I will ask about the workout videos..I reallly would like to try the Zumba..I love to dance this one seems to be one I can do in the privacy of my own home..and if it gets to bad I can stop it..Just not sure about the movement on the foot..So I will ask the Dr..
Are there any other workouts out there that don't consist of jumping or alot of foot pressure?0
