the scales

Does anyone else out there weigh themselves everyday or used to. I do and it's weird because you lose a kilo or pound and your really happy but then after a while your annoyed that your still that weight where as a couple of weeks ago you wish you were the weight you are now if that makes any sense:frown:
So maybe digital scales are the go so I can see weight loss more accurately ( I have cheap old scales)
or should I weigh myself less frequently
or throw the scales out and buy some new ones when I can fit into my skinny jeans.
What do you do that doesn't make it so depressing. Thanks

I weigh myself every day so that I can catch myself if I get off track. It helps me to see the effects of things like eating too late at night, or not having enough water the day before, no exercise, not enough sleep, etc, and then I can try and get back on track each day that I slip. Every time I get down because I still weigh what I did four days ago, or even last week, I remind myself of how much I've lost and NOT regained, and that makes me feel better. If I don't weigh every day, it's much harder to get back on track if I've been slipping, because I've usually gained a bit and have to re-lose it. :grumble:0

I do weigh everyday. I started doing that around 4 years ago when I started trying to lose weight. People told me to weigh once a week or even less than that but that didn't work for me. Even though I weigh everyday I only write down my Monday weight. Depending on what I've had to eat or drink in a day my weight can fluctuate 3 to 4 pounds. That's why I only worry about my Monday weight.
I did throw away my dial scale and got a digital scale that is very accurate. I recommend that you write your weight down somewhere so you can look back at it. You will probably see that even though the numbers may not change as fast or as often as you like, the number will continually get lower. That's what I see...my high weight is continually getting lower all the time.
Keep on keeping on and you'll get there!0 -
I actually heard that people that weigh themselves everyday have better weight loss. I'll admit, I weigh myself everyday and if I don't, I'll think about it all day.. lol:laugh:0

If you want to weight everyday, you might want to get the digital. But that might not necessarily make it better as it could go up .5 of a lb or kg (or more) each day....not just down. I have a digital and try to weigh only once per week, but sometimes get on just to check and it does make changes everyday sometimes. So I guess if you can handle UPs and DOWNs, get a digital and keep doing what you're doing. However, seeing a bigger change once per week rather than a tiny change every day is more satisifying in my opinion.0
