technical bodymedia fit question

I do not think it clears after two weeks. I went for about a month not using it and I can still plug it in and check January totals.
It is also possible for someone else to use it with your data still there. They will just have awkward averages until they use it long enough. I think the averages only go the last 2-4 weeks.0 -
Here is the ridiculously long URL to email their support center with your question:

I'm ditching my BodyMedia Fit and getting it ready for resale. Does the device lose all the data after two weeks, or is there something special I need to do to clear the device so someone else can use it?
Thanks in advance!
Cynthia
Just curious, why are you ditching it? Looks like you've had a lot of success with it!
I'm enjoying mine, and think that it's helped me out a lot with my weight loss.0 -
Thanks, but that success came long before a BodyMedia! I've been crunching calorie numbers for more than a decade, and now that I'm entering menopause and had my thyroid gland removed last summer, numbers that used to work no longer do. So I thought the BodyMedia might help me analyze better, but the numbers just never matched up. I wore it for 5 months and should have at least maintained weight according to their calculations, but that did not happen. I think it's a great tool if you're on a level playing field!0

Hi Go2Grrl,
Thank you for trying our product! It’s great that you are allowing another person to get a chance to use our BodyMedia FIT device. Don’t worry. Your data will stay with your account. If you give your armband away, the new user will need to set up a new account and his or her data will begin recording with their account from that day forward. No data from your account will be imported in to the new user’s Activity Manager.
Also be sure to clean your armband strap before passing your BodyMedia FIT and wiping the armband with a lightly moist cloth and tiny bit of soap. This will make sure the BodyMedia FIT is passed on hygienically to the next user.
Hope this helps! Thanks again!
