Late Night Binge :(

Hey guys,

I find it fairly easy to eat controlled meals and portions throughout my working day, with some aid from my personal trainer he structured a nutrition plan for me to include breakfast, snacks, lunches and dinners.......

However I find that once I get home from work (and once I return home from the gym) I will have dinner - which I generally have no control over (calorie wise) and then... I find myself nearly every single night craving dry biscuits and cheese with a glass of milk... EVERY SINGLE NIGHT before bed..........

I find I can't control my urges once I am home and there is limited structure, or I get bored..... I have done so well and do so well throughout the rest of the day (GENERALLY) during the week only - I find similar to this problem I really struggle to control my food urges on the weekends, again, when I am home......

Any advice on the weird biscuit and cheese fetish or the lack of structure bored eating - please do share! :)

Ha ha! I think late night eating is what screws a lot of people. Sometimes, I get so scared during the day that I will need calories for nighttime that I end up not eating enough. What a stupid paranoia.

Anyway, a couple things I've noticed some of my friends on MFP suggest:

    1. When you feel a craving coming on, paint your nails. The smell might put you off food, plus you can't really use your hands for like 30 minutes.

    2. Drink a glass of water with Benefiber. The water fills your stomach temporarily and the extra fiber keeps you feeling full longer. Plus, who can't use more fiber?

Is it a proper binge or just snacking?
You could include an evening/late night snack in your daily meal plans... so plan in calories for whatever you want (homemade popcorn is a great idea, you can put whatever you want on it- one cup is like 20 calories I think? I like adding nutritional yeast and chilli powder).

Plan for them! I like to eat at night so I eat 2/3 of my 3200 daily calories between 6:30pm and 9:30 pm, then straight to bed. When you eat is not an issue if you don't have some sort of medical reason to not eat late (heartburn, diabetic etc..) As long as you're in caloric deficit you'll lose weight.

first off, what type of music do you play

Secondly, I am the same way, milk and/or some other dairy product and sometimes I just can't get enough of it. I think I will try water mixed with chai seeds and see what happens. I think for me, a lot of it is boredom
