  • I just take afew painkillers about 30 minutes before any excercise. I also opt for low impact workouts as painkillers have a risk of masking any warning pains/injuries. I usually go swimming as its a high energy low impact workout, if your using tampons its no problem at all.
  • Maybe you are low on iron. Check with your doctor, you are definatly missing a vital mineral or vitamin during your monthlys that a supplement can sort out.

Painkillers for cramps. I notice I am often less strong when I have my period but I just do my best with my workout. I make sure I am getting enough iron too and supplement if I feel worn out.

I get really bad debilitating cramps if I do too much (or sometimes anything at all) during tom, try to do gentle exercises like Pilates or yoga or if its really bad a day off won't harm listen to your body x
  • I have an iud so sometimes my cramps leave me unable to move. I have found that eating right, drinking enough water and exercising have helped them though. I usually just dose up on painkillers, have a hot beverage (green tea/fruit tea works best) and get on with it! Then treat myself to a little something after (low cal hot choc is a brilliant reason to finish a workout!)

I got told of my PT years ago not to exercise within 24hrs of getting it cause u need the energy elsewhere... After the first 24hrs I still give the same 100% as usual, ill just take some pain killers if I have to.
