Hello All,

I started on here about a year ago but with work and family commitments I let it slip after a month or so and slipped back into my old ways and ended up back at my starting weight - very discouraging so I have decided to kick myself up the butt and get back on track with my weight loss journey however, I have a question to do with my weight loss and I am hoping someone will be able to help me.

I entered my weight into MFP and it has come back that, to lose 1.5 lbs a week, I will need to eat 1,330 calories a day (a 750 deficit from my calories burned daily on the 'Goals' page of MFP). However, I usually burn around about 400 calories 4 or 5 times a week (usually burn between 2000 and 2400 calories a week through exercise).

Recently I have been eating around 1300 - 1400 calories a day after exercise, does this sound like a healthy amount of calories to be eating a day?

Any information would be appreciated.

Many thanks

You could eat 1330 on non-exercise days and 1730 on exercise days, or 1640 every day.

Whether it's healthy depends more on what the calories are. 80-100g of protein would be a good start.

    Thank you for your advice.

On non-exercise days I eat my allowed 1330 or maybe even a little bit more. And on exercise days I seem to be netting around 1400 - 1500 after exercise. Does this sound healthy?

I am also wondering if you have any advice about BMR. My BMR is 1650 with a sedentary lifestyle as I don't have an active lifestyle except my workouts. Do you have to net your BMR or should this be at a slight deficit to lose weight loss? This is where it becomes very confusing :ohwell:
