Hi Guys,

I thought id put this out there as im sure there are many other people with this issue who may have over come it.

I am addicted to Junk food, mainly coke and crisps but takeaways etc, i have a huge physcolgical issue with food as a general, salad and veg and fruitt and pork and food being mixed together in general really.

I really need some help or ideas on how to eat healthy and how to overcome the issues i have, if i even put a tomato in my mouth, i gag and want to throw up, ive often decided to just not eat because the only thing on offer was something i didnt like.

I want to be able to eat normally and eat healthy, i feel like im loosing a battle.

Please help!

I would eat junk as well.

Instead of soda, I replaced it with water.
Instead of chips, I replaced them with veggies and ranch dip.
Instead of cookies, I replaced them with crackers...they are lower in calories.
Instead of ice cream, I replaced it with low fat frozen yogurt.

It's hard to get used to but you can do it!

    Take baby steps, girl!

I have had a rough time with food in my life. I used to drink liters upon liters of cola every day, blocks of cheese, bags of crisps, burgers the size of my head, and anything else that struck my fancy.

Finally, I knew something had to change. So I started making small changes. I'd keep a bottle of water at my desk when I worked instead of soda - and I trained myself to have a full bottle of water before I could have a cola. I started looking at the packaging on things and measuring out a "portion" by their rules - if 13 crisps is a serving, I'd put the whole packet into serving sized baggies and allow myself ONE serving of it - I'd take that serving to another room and set a timer - I couldn't eat it faster than that, so I would SAVOUR it! (And eating more was a pain, too, 'cos then I'd have to get up and go elsewhere to get them)

Change small things. Don't like tomotoes? Don't eat them. What do you like? Can you find nicer-for-you versions of things you like to eat? Recipes for your favourite stuff that have less preseratives or better fats? Instead of pasta, for example, I've begun eating broccoli slaw - I get the fiber and nutrients I need without feeling like "ugh, I'm eating broccoli." I made some fozen "fudge" out of mashed bananas and chocolate powder with coconut oil - it's really good for me, but it feels & tastes decadent enough that I have to fight my husband off them!

What is it about takeaway that is attractive? The flavour? The ease? The options?

What if you make a point to, say, every Monday, cook at home for dinner and lunch the next day.

    Baby steps. :*
