low intensity to high intensity... how to alter routine...?

Found out this week the cause of my headaches, some degenerative disc disease, so to make a long story short, I have to reduce my intensity (well increase, actually). I have had to take out squats for the time being.
I had been doing an RPT style routine 3 x a week.
Workout A - Squat, OHP, Chins.
Workout B - Deads, Bench, Pend Row.
with some fluff added on as time permitted, bicep, tircep.
Not sure if I should just keep doing the same routine, and change it up to better reflect a higher intensity say 12 reps x 3 sets (or more). I want to be able to keep the gains I have made, strength wise.
Or is a better idea for a high intensity routine out there, that would be more beneficial for me at this time?
