Heart Rate Monitor - looking for suggestions

Does anyone use a heart rate monitor? I had one years ago that is no longer in working condition (nor do I remember how to use it!). I would like to buy a new model and am looking for suggestions.

I want an accurate look at my heart rate during exercise to make sure that I'm in the target zone, and I want to see how many calories I am really burning. Many of the exercises that I can physically do now (am recovering from a knee injury) aren't in the MFP exercise list, so I want to make sure I'm burning something!

So, do you have one? Do you like it? Don't you? What would you recommend?

I have a Polar F6, from Ebay. Get one with a user replaceable battery to save having to send it off.

Check out the manuals etc online to see if you can set up the calorie estimate accurately eg input your VO2max. The reported figure will include your resting calories which should be subtracted.

I enjoy mine, keeping "in the zone" can be a challenge if you're not on flat ground or a machine. I also like the polarpersonaltrainer web site which the watch will upload to and has an exercise diary.

I have a Polar FT7 that I got at a great deal! $159.99 regular price watch (with chest strap) plus tax I got for 50% off and paid $90 and change with tax!

I love mine! Get one that has a chest strap and that gives you the ability to input height, weight, age, and sex for the most accurate calorie burns. I only use my chest strap while working out.
