I'm single. I haven't dated in YEARS (and probably won't for another few)

but, I'm still interested in hearing good stories :) & wretched ones...which are always good for the reader, maybe not so much for the participant.

Please share with me your BEST and your WORST dates.

....and GO!

Best date ever: (finally!) meeting for the first time, going for a little walk, sitting on the porch admiring each other and the stars, kissing passionately.

My best date was with my current S.O. It wasn't even really a date per sey. We were coworkers years before we started dating, went our separate ways etc etc...One day we ran into each other again. He had busted his ankle and was a student in uni at the time. I went to pick him up so I could take him to his doctors appointment, he didn't have a car and I didn't want him to have to hobble on the bus on his crutches. After the appointment he took me to lunch as a thank you.

Stupid guy... I felt so bad. He was hobbling ahead of me on his crutches to open every single door. Finally I ran for a door to get there first so I could open it for him, after all the guy was crippled. But as I'm at the door reaching out to push it open I see this tip of his crutch come up beside me and BAM. He opened the door for me with his crutch. Then I knew he was a keeper, haha.

Not really the best "date" but just the one that really stands out in my mind.

Worst dates... not so much... Oh, except for that time I exploded sushi all over my date.

Best date was watching the movie bridesmaids, in bed, laughing our a$$es off and of course eating cookies n cream ice cream.

Best date ever..the guy picked me up with no car (to my surprise), we walked to the theater, I paid (he forgot his wallet), and he walked me home. He fessed up that he didn't forget his wallet and he was going to call to cancel because he didn't have the funds, but was scared he wouldn't get another chance. He was really sweet and funny the entire night, we are still friends to this day.

Best first date ever, talking on the phone while getting ready, super excited, pool and a juke box, bowling and a couple drinks and then dancing at a cheesy hip bar and laughing our *kitten* off. A the end of the night a passionate kiss in his truck and him telling me I'm beautiful. He is now my SO and we have two wonderful children,

Worst date, dinner at a fancy restaurant, boring conversation, all the guy did was compliment me and himself and how we 'go together', at the end of the night walked me to my door and tried to invite himself in. First and ONLY date with the douche.

Hmmm...best? Second date he takes me to an awesome place downtown for dinner. After dinner we walked around and at one point I just turned to him, looked up and we had our first kiss...and then several more. Deciding the night was too young yet, we headed to a bar for drinks and he danced with me out on the patio (we were the only ones dancing, just stood up and started swaying). It was a great night :smooched: Too bad he turned out to be a total control freak and creeper....

The worst? Too many stories to tell! The most recent was just last week. I was meeting up with a guy for drinks before his gig at a bar, was about to head out the door and I get a text that says he's seeing other people and hopes that isn't an issue. I understand, life is short....I say so and ask for clarification of if she will be there too. Why, yes. Is that a problem? Mothertruckerplease. I took myself out for a drink instead. :grumble:

Worst date ever: Guy picks me up in his company vehicle which smelt like fart & rotten Subway [the vehicle was a mess], took us to a bar, orders wings [for the both of us before I could say anything], makes me pay, drives me home blasting [like so loud I couldn't hear myself think] Oasis the entire time with all the windows down and belting the lyrics to "Wonderwall". Then proceeds to text me for months afterwards confused as to why I never wanted to see him again...

Best date ever: The first time I ever met my now fiance. We saw each other and nodded our heads in reassurance and then I put down my purse hugged him, asked him where he'd been all my life and kissed him... We met in a Greyhound bus depot... lol. We've been inseparable ever since.

    Best - impromptu trip to Great Adventure;

Worst - at the end of the evening he confessed that his "roommate" was really his wife.

Best date ever was also the worst date ever. The guy took me out to dinner and we had known each other for years so it wasn't awkward. Anyways, we drank some beers and laughed and talked. We left and went to a bar and danced all night and had the greatest time. When we left, we pulled over to use the restroom, (we we're out in the country), and we were caught by a cop. We spent the rest of the weekend in jail.

It was Memorial Day weekend, so we went in at 3 am Saturday and didn't get out until Tuesday.

We've been married 4 years now.

Best date: My wife and I went to the beach to watch the "Super moon" last year. A bit of rum and wine and we fell asleep. The police woke us up at almost 6:00 AM the next day.

Worst date: While driving with some girl who I already had gone out with a few times, she totally wigged out on me. We were in a bad part of town and she was screaming that I was going to rape her. She jumped out of the car at a stoplight and I finally had to call the police to come get her. It was dark, it was a VERY bad part of town and she kept running from me.

Best date was with my husband recently. We almost broke up recently after 22 years together. Our anniversary was in May and both of us ignored it. A few weeks later we realized that we really did love each other and wanted to work things out. We decided that on a Wednesday, two weeks after our anniversary had passed, so we went out for our anniversary dinner. We spent the entire time holding hands and talking, really talking. It helped us recommit to each other.

When I was 19, I was seeing two people. They knew eachother, and knew ABOUT eachother (so no, I am not a hussy). I had fun with both, hung out with both, didn't sleep with either, ever!

There was an event going on in Buxton (where one of the guys lived) so I headed out there with him (Brandon) and my sister and her bf (who was his cousin). Dave (the "other guy") caught wind that I was going to the event, and decided to show up. Brandon was off doing his own thing for the majority of the night because he was helping with the event. I was fine with that. Dave shows up and I was SUPER excited to see him. I'd had a few drinks at this point and I gave him a big hug & squealed loudly (because he was there and clearly it was VERY exciting, lol). Halfway through the night, we were talking, hanging out, and we started kissing. No big deal.

So, Brandon eventually comes over and wants to talk for a minute, so I walk down the lawn with him (outdoor event). Brandon's sister yelled out, "pose for a picture" whereupon Brandon kissed me on the cheek (for the photo). Meanwhile, Dave had followed us out and was GLARING at me. Once the picture was taken, he approached me (while Brandon was talking to someone else) and yelled "I saw that. Did you not think I saw that?". I'm like....wasn't trying to hide it? It's not like we sucked face (like you and I just did). It was a photo opportunity, big deal. Next thing you know, he's crying and begging me to go into a PORTA POTTY with him and "get it on" ........WTF?!

Worst part is. He was serious.

Morale of the story. Don't "see" two guys at once. Even if they know eachother and are "okay with it" because clearly, one party is always NOT okay with it, and you just might get coerced to rendezvous in a stanky *kitten* porta john.

    THE END :)

P.s, sadly, this is NOT my "worst date"....

My best date was just this past Valentine's day, my husband surprised me with Dinner, flowers and an evening to ourselves when I got home from work. He had been planning it for a while, which he doesn't normally do things like that. It was the best surprise ever.
