Fast food sucks

Every time I go eat fast food, I have cleared a big chunk of room from my daily allowance, and I expect something magically delicious when I dedicate that many cals to something. Today after I ate my 700 calorie fast food meal, I wasn't satisfied. I'm still hungry, and it didn't taste mind-blowing like I thought it would. UGHHHH Anyone feel me? How did I used to think that it was so darn good?

Thats funny
Last summer I had been eating well for 3 months or so, no junk at all. I was visiting family and friends in New England and was driving from PA to MA to spend the weekend with my BFF.
Well I was alone and hungry so I ate McDs........actually scarfed it down like a starving dog.
I then threw up for the next 12 hours..........couldnt go dancing and to watch the band play.
I cannot even PASS a McDs now!!
Write down how you feel right this moment! Etch it in your mind. The next time you want something like that pull out the piece of paper and read it to see if it is really worth it.
In the 12 step programs they tell the alcoholic to 'Think the drink through' From beginning to the awful end..............I do this with food now. Is it worth it? Will it be really as good as my mind has somehow remembered it?
I make my own burgers and fries now!!

I agree! I swear that stuff is addicting if you eat it often. But as soon as I stopped eating it, I stopped craving it, and thought it was even kind of gross, like you did. I would much rather eat real food now, its much more delicious! Fast food = boooo!0

I'm there with you. I started eating healthier with this website, and even though it's been only a few weeks, I have a hard time eating junk food now. It all tastes greasy, and it makes me nauseous afterward, like someone punched me in the stomach. It just doesn't look or taste as good as it once did. I guess we CAN retrain these evil tastebuds  to want cleaner, healthier food.

I used to eat fast food every single day. Looking back, I have no clue how I did it. When I pass by a fast food place, it's like it's not even there. My mom likes fast food, so if I'm with her when she goes through the drive thru, it's really not a problem to pass it up. (Except maybe a Mc's Parfait. yum.)0

the other night I worked late.....couldnt even think about making dinner.
I went down the whole list in my head, and even Boston Market reminded me of all the salt in their food, the grease from the skin.......I couldnt do it.
I mean, I still eat pizza......dont get me wrong, but the fast food places have really turned me off.0 -
It feels so good to be free of the fast food cravings.
I love a home grilled burger on an Oroweat sandwich thin bun.
I love a taco at home.
I'm not missing the drive thru yucko feeling.0 -
I feel ya! Everytime I eat fast food, I think it sure wasn't worth blowing my diet or blowing my calories! But sometimes that is what it takes to remind me that it really isn't as good as I thought.0

I don't eat fast food because it always makes me sick to my stomach. I will still eat pizza ocassionally. :happy:0

Gah I love pizza. Thinking about having it tonight...and I'll probably make it! It is so much more satisfying if I make "fast food" like cheeseburgers and fries. Or sometimes I get it from a nicer restaurant, and that is usually always tasty! No more fast food unless it is subs.0

Not gonna lie - there is some extremely good "fast" food in this area. We have a lot of salad joints that offer fast, to-go salads around $7. Beats the pants off of any McD's calorie binge.
I'm actually afraid of McD's food. I had an incident with some chicken nuggets and food poisoning in college. Needless to say, I really want nothing to do with anything fried at McD's anymore. Their French fries (and I'm guessing it's the Frankenoil that they fry them in) leave me running for the restroom...So! Uh...no McD's eats unless it involves only a cup of coffee, bottled water, or salad.0 -
I agree. Fast food food doesn't even appeal to me anymore. Every once in a while my son will offer to get something for me when he goes to a fast food restaurant and I just decline because nothing even sounds good. I don't miss that crap at all. :noway:0
