45 pounds gone! First time posting picture :)

So I started MFP last year because my work was doing a "weightloss challenge" and I've successfully lost 45 lbs :)

About halfway through the year, I hit a plateau and stopped losing weight and so I kind of gave up a little bit. I'm jumping back on the wagon and going to try to lose another 45 lbs by Christmas!

Here's a photo of me (Left) about 280+ and (Right) about 240

Big difference. It can be hard to keep going when you plateau, but it's so worth it when you keep going!!! Good luck!!!!

That is great. I love seeing the difference in your face. While my gut area may not change much with a lot of weight loss, my face does, and that always feels and looks good- like I am seeing "me".
  • Great job!! Keep up the good work!

congratulations!!What a difference-Im proud and glad for you
  • Awesome!

I wish you continued success on your journey.

The plateaus are a good thing from what I understand. I think plateaus give your body a chance to readjust the "set point" of your weight to a lower number so that if you begin to regain weight, you body wants to stay at the readjusted set point. That readjusted set point can help you lose the weight gained. (I may be wrong so you might want to check with someone who is an expert on that stuff.) Maybe thinking of the plateaus this way can help fight the discouragement next time around.

    Best to you, Wenona!
