"Paleo" Diet

I'm starting a new diet called the "Paleo" diet. Short for Paleolithic, this diet asks you to only eat what they had in the Paleolithic era. The diet requires you to only eat fruits, vegetables, and meats. No breads or grains. I've been doing it for a few days now and it's been really good. Has anyone else heard of this diet?

Has anyone else heard of the raging fad that is the Paleo diet? For real?

Paleo has been a hot topic as of late on these boards, but there is a paleo group you can join. There are a bunch of us on there and we are pretty active.

Yes, I've heard of it. It is, of course, impossible to eat what Paleolithic man ate, but there are others doing it on here, you can use the search button to find them or Paleo groups.

Be nice! The OP's profile says they just joined this month. It's not as if the Paleo diet is a hot topic everywhere outside this site.

    I can, I have a time machine.
  • I sorta drifted into a paleo diet a few weeks ago, and so far I have no complaints - technically, I guess it's more 'primal', since I do have some dairy, but not much. I'm probably about 90% paleo.

So far, I feel fine, and the bread cravings have totally subsided. I also fast 1-2 days a week, and that turns out to be much easier than you'd think. And over the past 3 weeks, I've made better progress than the previous 3 months.

    Yes, it is.

Paleo/primal has absolutely exploded in the last year to the point where it is every bit as big as where Atkins was at the peak of its power.

Helping Paleo along is the fact that Crossfit has also absolutely exploded as of late, and Paleo is the official diet of Crossfit, all Crossfitters are pushed toward the Paleo diet.

I've never heard of it outside this site, and the few people I've mentioned it o have never heard of it. But then I don't really know what Crossfit is either, or frequent any other diet sites.

I never heard of either of those until this thread. Be kind. Some of us are just living our lives.

Mark'sdailyapple.com is my favorite site for paleo/primal information. Basically he's not quite as strict as some of the other paleo people, and it has worked very well for me. 47 lbs since 1/1, and I love what I eat.
