Motivation

I have had MFP for a while, but just started actively taking a stand in trying to get back into shape and eating healthier. I’m really looking for the motivation that comes with trying to get into shape. I tried putting my exciting news on facebook, but was feeling more criticized versus motivated – (I’m proud to have ran/walked 2 miles in 28 minutes!) I just started the couch to 5k program (I think I enjoy the couch part of it more, but hoping to convert myself over to one of those crazy exercise ladies who feels lost if I miss a workout!)

Looking just for some active people who are on here a lot, which will make me want to check in more often – to see how everyone’s doing!

I wish everyone the best of luck in their fitness/weightloss plans!!

Keri

Congrats with your accomplishment of doing the 2 miles! It is always amazing to see what your body/mind/determination is capable of. Keep at it, and I'm sure you'll be running that 5K before you know it.

And, quick confession...I am turning into one of those crazy exercise ladies more and more each day. And I definitely wasn't always like that, so conversion is possible!

This is my first day of the new me. I bought the Fitbit today and this is my second day of walking. I have had the account for a while now, but much like you I've had no real enthusiasm coming from anywhere and that has stifled my drive. Yesterday I woke up (mentally) and the light bulb has been bright since then. I'm up, I'm set, I'm going to drop 300lbs. I'll do my best to be on here almost every day to post something. Even if it's just to say "Hy". Just tell me how to keep this post/page going and I'll do so! :-) As the Korean's would say; "Aja aja! Fighting!" ^_^

Yes, feel the need for motivation too..... heading for the family vacation soon, and want this to be one holiday I DO NOT gain weight on. I too am trying to become a crazy exercise person again, after knee surgery last year, now getting into cycling ... I used to be a runner. And your 2 miles is GREAT!!!! :flowerforyou: Moving OFF the couch is SUPER! I managed a triathalon - yup me.... last weekend. Cycled 23km, kayaked 5km and my daughter ran the 6km. Was an amazing mother/daughter moment. And I had thought my 'crazy' days were over. Not so..... I have signed up for a charity ride in Sept of 76km ... mostly uphill! So, feel free to add me as a friend. Think we can spur each other on in our 'new' sports.

You came to the right place. MFP is as good a site as any. Most everyone is here to either get healthy or stay healthy, either by losing/gaining weight or getting/staying in shape. You will find most of the posters are encouraging and friendly. Of course, you'll find others who aren't.

Find some individuals which you believe will benefit your cause and join in the fun. You will find what you are searching for, without a doubt.

    Good luck!
